My first project that I have already begun work on is a series of short stories/essays that will explore the way we deal with our senses of sight, hearing, taste, smell, and touch. What better way to do that than to steal them away from someone. The five characters in my stories will each lose one of the five senses and will have to grapple with the effects that this loss has on their lives.
As I dive deeper into the human mind in these stories, please feel free to leave your comments and thoughts on the blog here. I am certain to have my own biases about how someone would deal with these losses, but you might have something that I have never thought of that I might be able to include. Full credit for the ideas will be given where necessary.
Also, be on the lookout soon for links to Kickstarter.com where I will be looking to raise some funds to put together print versions of these stories in a book format. Spread the word to your family and friends.
Even if no one reads what I have to write here, I will consider this site a success for the mere fact that it will get me to write on a regular basis. I need to write. It is a requirement for my being and I have not done nearly enough of it in the last several years.
That is about to change.
