#1025
I turn the lock to forty four
Slide the latch up in its’ home
The empty space revealed inside
A place to call my own.
No books yet litter the metal floor
But that soon will change
I hear the locker next to mine
Open and turn my gaze.
She is stunning in her beauty
A true sight to behold
I should at least ask her name
But I could not be so bold.
She flashes me a smile
And I quickly turn away
Grabbing a fresh pencil
I look back at her and say
Nothing as I see her back
She fades into the throng
Closing up my cage I realize
I did everything so wrong.
Slide the latch up in its’ home
The empty space revealed inside
A place to call my own.
No books yet litter the metal floor
But that soon will change
I hear the locker next to mine
Open and turn my gaze.
She is stunning in her beauty
A true sight to behold
I should at least ask her name
But I could not be so bold.
She flashes me a smile
And I quickly turn away
Grabbing a fresh pencil
I look back at her and say
Nothing as I see her back
She fades into the throng
Closing up my cage I realize
