Despite all the controversy leading up to the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janiero, Brazil, I personally felt that the games went off quite well. That being said, my experience of the games was limited to what I saw portrayed on NBC here in the United States and I'm sure the truth on the ground was somewhat different.
One thing the games of the 31st Olympiad did was to inspire me to write a series of poems about the athletes. Below you will find links to 46 poems written about the individuals and/or teams who brought up gold medals for the United States during the games in Rio. They are listed in (roughly) the order in which they were awarded but were not necessarily written in that order. If you see a name without a link, come back again to check. I am updating them as I go.
